Stonehenge
Not far from the city of Salisbury in the southwest of England stands Stonehenge, one of the most (MYSTERY) prehistoric monuments in Britain. (VISIT) love this amazing monument – about 800,000 people visit it each year!
From the remains of tools found at the site, scientists have discovered that work started on
Stonehenge about 6,000 years ago, but the gigantic stones that make it (FAME) today were added a thousand years later. Because there are no written records, nobody (REAL) knows why Stonehenge was built. Some people, however, believe that it was used to calculate the
(MOVE) of the sun and moon, but as one scientist has said: “Most of what has been stated about Stonehenge is nonsense.”
So, we may never find out for sure the reason for Stonehenge’s (EXIST).
